The Aith sweater draws inspiration from the traditional Guernsey knitwear once worn by British fishermen navigating the North Sea. Reimagined for modern wardrobes, it combines historic stitchwork with a relaxed, contemporary silhouette.
Knitted from substantial 100% cotton, this midweight 710g jumper offers structure while remaining breathable and comfortable across seasons. The softly rolled turtle neck is finished in a classic 2x2 rib, sitting naturally around the neck while maintaining shape through wear.
Traditional cable formations define the front and back panels, echoing maritime knitwear patterns once used to symbolise strength, resilience, and life at sea. Moss stitch sleeves add subtle texture while maintaining everyday wearability, while a garter stitch welt at the hem draws inspiration from the movement of coastal waves. Discreet side slits allow for ease of movement, with ribbed cuffs completing the silhouette.
